How do I write my first invoice?
On first launch, BillUp walks you through your company details: name, address, tax number or VAT ID, bank details and logo. After that you create an invoice via “+”, pick a customer, enter the line items and generate the PDF.
Where do I find the finished invoices?
In the app under the invoice itself and additionally in the Files app in the “Rechnungen” folder. From there you can open, back up or pass them on without BillUp.
How do I set up my invoice numbers?
In the settings you define your own pattern for the invoice number. BillUp then counts up sequentially, so no number is issued twice or skipped.
Which tax categories does BillUp support?
Standard rate, small business under §19 UStG, reverse charge, intra-community supply, export and zero rate. The matching notes appear on the invoice automatically and are carried in the embedded XML as well.
How do I add my logo?
In the settings, under your company details. The logo then appears in the letterhead of every invoice, together with your address, tax number and bank details.
How do my invoices get onto my iPad?
Through your private iCloud. Sign in on both devices with the same Apple Account and invoices, customers and logo are mirrored. You need no account with us for that.
What does “validated against EN 16931” mean?
Every document is checked against the official schema and the calculation rules of the EN 16931 standard before it is issued. If a mandatory field is missing or a total does not add up, BillUp tells you before the invoice is created.
My customer can't do anything with ZUGFeRD. Is that a problem?
No. A ZUGFeRD document is an ordinary PDF that anyone can open and print. The XML sits invisibly inside it and gets in nobody's way if it goes unread.
How does the GiroCode on the invoice work?
As soon as your bank details are stored, BillUp prints the GiroCode on every invoice. Your customer scans it with their banking app and the transfer is pre-filled with recipient, IBAN, amount and reference.
